Gospel Videos

Every year at school we are given a gospel to make a movie about for religion class.
This is the one I was in this year. I am the adorable 5 year old :)
I had a lot of fun throwing a fit in "Target". I thought it was a pretty awesome movie.
Our gospel was from the 3rd Sunday of Advent, Year A.
The gospel was about being patient.
(Keep in mind, I don't act like this in real life)

First Snow of the Season

Normally in Minnesota, we have snow by at least October. We finally got some snow, but it was really late this year, and there wasn't very much. I took the chance to go out and take some pictures with my dad's old camera. It works a lot better than mine. I also had my little model Becca, and even though she normally hates getting her picture taken, she actually cooperated for once. At least at first...

Becca started out cooperating...

And then Becca started a snowman..
(Now keep in mind, there is nowhere near enough snow to make one...)

Becca's finished snowman...

"Hannah! The doggy ate my snowman!"

Now Becca's normally crazy...keep in mind that she gets weirder on camera...
"Are you serious?? More pictures? I better get hot cocoa after this Hannah..."

All in all, it was a pretty fun snow-day.

Construction Work, Construction Work Go Away!

Our school is having some construction work done. We are moving our playground and getting a new office and preschool rooms. That sometimes makes it really loud when we are trying to do our work, and once we even had a power outage because of it! It's also frustrating because now we don't get recess on a playground, just standing on the courtyard. I know I shouldn't complain, because our school is the only one in town where eighth graders even get recess, but I still miss my playground equipment. Hopefully it will all be done before we graduate in the spring. I am kind of excited to go High School, but also a bit nervous because I've never been to public school. Do you still get recess? What do you think?

Money Money Money

What reasons can you think of that make it difficult to dicuss money?
A lot of people think of money as kind of a taboo topic. Why? Many would say that it just isn't others business, while some say that they don't really care. Here's what I think:
I think people who have a lot of money, are always worrier than  if they talk about their money, they'll seem all high and mighty, because their rich. Then those who may be struggling to make ends meet are afraid that their peers with more money will look down on them for having less. I don't know if that's right, because I feel when talking about money, you should just keep your business to yourself. What annoys me though, is when little kids ask how much money their family has, and the parent just says "Don't ask that"
and doesn't really explain why. That always made me more curious. What do you think?

I know its crazy,
But already I've been thinking a lot about all I can think about is Christmas!
I know, I know you're thinking "Hannah, Halloween just past, can't you take a break before obbsessing over another holiday?" The answer is no, no I can't. I was playing Christmas music so loud on my Ipod, my Dad came downstairs and took it! He said it was crazy to be thinking so much about Christmas before Thanksgiving. My mom thinks I should get excited about Thanksgiving. I said "How can you get so excited, all you do on Thanksgiving is overeat!" and thats why Thanksgiving is my sister's favorite holiday. Don't worry, I won't make you suffer, I won't change my blog background to Christmas for at least another week :).
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon going to craft shows. There were probably eight of them all over town. And so what if the wind was harder than it has been all month, and so what if your mom refuses to give you a ride so you're on your bike, and so what if you are the only one at the craft shows younger than 60, it was fun.
The only person I ended up seeing that I knew was my grandma

Minnesota Election 2010... Another Recount?

November 2nd was Election Day. But, we still don't know who our governor is. Why? Tom Emmer was trailing behind Dayton by less than one percent. Because of that, we are forced to have an automatic recount. This reminds me of when Norm Coleman and Al Franken had the same issue a couple of years ago. We didn't know who our senator was for months.
Here’s what will happen:
1.      First election officials will double-check their numbers
2.      Then if they find a margin larger than 10,500 votes, it will trigger an automatic recount
3.      Then some people will have to start recounting votes by hand.
4.      Then they can declare a winner.

I find it annoying when we have to have recounts. I want to know who is our governor, and I’m sure those who have to count the votes aren’t too happy either. If I were in charge of the country (which I’m not) I think it would be easier to just have a revote, not including Tom Horner. This way voters would have to chose between Tom Emmer and Mark Dayton. We read an article for class on Minnesota Public radio. Click here to read it. What do you think should be done? Please comment with your thoughts:
